100% Tempranillo, manually harvested, average 50-year-old vines from one vineyard located between the villages of Brinas and San Vicente on the plots of La Linde, Hombon and La Tejera. 100% destemming, 9 day fermentation with twice daily pumping over and a total 22 day maceration period with grape skins. Aged 13 months in a rigorous selection of new French, American and Hungarian oak barrels where it undergoes malolactic fermentation. Then bottled and aged for a minimum of 16 months before release.
Dark, garnet red cherry with youthful glints. Superbly intense open nose, aromas of toasted oak and wild berries with balsamic and mineral tones. Huge wine of enormous depth and structure with great elegance, soft and rounded, complex fruit character of blackberries, plums, damsons with refined, integrated oak, toasted cocoa and vanilla flavours, broadening out on palate and leaving a wonderous finish. Production: 32,000 bottles. Excellent with game, red meats, baked fish and semi-cured cheeses.
